GDLX coated jumper successfully deployed in Gulf of Mexico

Bayou and Wasco Announce Restart of Bayou-Wasco Insulation Facility

HOUSTON, July 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Bayou Companies, LLC (“Bayou”) and Wasco Energy (“Wasco”) today announced the restart of the Bayou-Wasco Insulation(“BWI”) facility effective immediately. BWI will continue to operate from New Iberia, Louisiana, and provide customers with both Glass Syntactic Polyurethane (“GSPU”) and Glass Syntactic Polypropylene (“GSPP” or 5LPP) insulation services. In addition to providing more choices for Gulf of Mexico customers, BWI will also serve in partnership with other Wasco locations to provide added support, capacity, and plant redundancy, further reducing execution risk on major subsea projects.

ODYSEA receives contract to insulate Gulf of Mexico project

HOUSTON, July 15, 2022 – ODYSEA (a division of The Bayou Companies) announced today that they have received the contract for a large project located in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico.  This project is located in around 6,600 feet of water. ODYSEA will apply the groundbreaking thermal insulation pipe coating, GOLDILOCKS (GDLX^TM), which is a high-performance resin utilizing the Nobel prize-winning Grubbs catalyst technology.  GDLX is the only proven and fully qualified high-temperature subsea insulator.  By utilizing a streamlined molding process ODYSEA will be able to deliver a safer and easier application to increase productivity from coating to installation.  For this project, GDLX will be applied to over 34,000’ of pipe in our New Iberia, Louisiana facility in the 4^th quarter of 2022.
